How Long?

Hello Weeds Fans! Annie (laughterqueen) here bringing you another $10 Tuesday! As I sat down yesterday to create a layout I realized how much time I really do invest in my pages. The time does vary, but even though I've been digi scrapping for a year now, it still takes me a good block of time to put the finalized details on a page and feel it's complete. So I timed myself on my latest page. It took me 2 hours off and on throughout yesterday and I had to go to bed last night before it was complete. I'm thinking probably another hour today and the layout will be done. Is that the norm? 3 hours on a page just seems like a long time! I might just be a slow-poke though! I will re-arrange and move things around until they feel "just right". Plus scrapping for me is more than just a hobby or documenting my family memories, it's a great way for me to wind down, it helps calm me after a hectic day, it's therapeutic for me! So my question for this week is:

"On average how long does it take you to complete a digi-layout?"

Just leave your comment here answering this weeks question and you'll be in the running to receive a $10 gift card to the Weeds Shoppe. Totally easy! Totally fun!

EDIT: Congratulations to Amanda D who is this weeks winner of $10 to the Weeds Shoppe! Watch your email soon Amanda for your gift card! Thanks to everyone for playing along!!

Until next Tuesday,

Annie (laughterqueen)

I think between 2 and 3 hours I can make a layout.

I would say on average it takes me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours for a layout but I am a minimalist and don't use alot of extra's. I am still learning my PSCS2 so most of my time is spent looking for the right filter or on photo enhancement.

It definitely takes me at least 3 hours because by the time you count in the time you take to figure out how to lay the pictures out, then what kit to use, then the style, plus maybe looking through your LO templates - it's been an hour right there. I get toooo picky some time so that adds to the time. I'm still learning techniques so sometimes I need to go back and read through directions on how to do a particular technique.

It really depends on my pics. Sometimes the pics dictate what type of layout I do and those go fairly quickly. Other times, I choose my pics and it may take me several hours to get it done. Of course, I do have the handful of layouts that are STILL waiting to be completed!

after i pic the photos and supplies, probably about an hour usually.......anymore and i think i'd go NUTS!!!!

Most of my layouts take 3-4 hours on average. It's so worth the time spent!

I would say 2 hrs on average.

Oh I am the same way! I will spend hours on one page! I use to be able to zip on three or four a day but lately I am lucky if I get one done!!

I would have to say on average 2-3hrs BUT I did a LO the other day that I "saw" the LO as soon as I opened the zip for the kit. That one took me about 20mins with those little changes and everything!!! I was in shock after that one and it looks great!

Depends on the layout and story. If I'm on a crop, I can finish a layout in 30 minutes or less. If not, it usually takes me 2 hours. If I use a template, that'll be around an hour.

It usually takes me 1 to 2 hours to do a layout. Sometimes it takes longer, but that's the average.

I usually need 3 hours for a layout. Sometimes I can do it faster depends on my mood.

I think that that is the norm...at least it is for me...lol! If I ever finished a LO in under 3 hours, I think I would faint, I know my husband would. HAHAHA!! I figure that my LO's are preserving the memories of my family for them and hopefully their children, so in the big scheme of things, 3 or 4 hours a LO is small potatoes!!

I'd say most of my pages are from 30 minutes to an hour, maybe two....depending how perfectionistic I'm being! ;o)

I would say typically around 3-4 hours, but I do have one LO I've sat on for WEEKS since nothing seemed to look right. And I just finished that one today! :) But typically around 3-4 hours or more.

I think it depends on the page. I can spend from 3 hours to an hour, depending on when the ideas kick in!!

depends on the page! some take me an hour or two, some i have to dwell on for a day or more, because something just doesn't feel quite right. those are the ones that kill my mojo. lol!!

What an interesting question!!! If I'm not working with photos, I can finish in 30mins. If I work with photos, that number jumps a HUGE way! If I factor in photo tweaking, doing a layout can take from 2hrs to 24 hours (I have worked on 2 very complicated layouts that took close to 24 hours to complete, hahaha!). Thanks for this great question!

I can easily spend 3 hours on a layout. If I am having a good week, I can get three layouts done. Usually, I get one or two done. I obsess about the little details and finding just the right ribbon or just the right stitch, so it takes me as much time searching for that element as actually placing it. I dont think I have ever made a layout in less than an hour and a half, I even find I have to tweak a QP. I think I am pretty slow.

On average, it takes me about 3hrs (on and off) to create one very good page (tat is if I m vy picky on the elements & color scheme). If I just decide to juzt use 1 kit, then it's about 1 hr or less. So, I dun think it is a long time as long as the page we created is something that satisfy us ;)

Shortest ever is about 3 hours...but I don't scrap with stuff as is, I alter and design along as I go. Plus I'm just anal retentive and still learning my program.

two hours

It varies from 30 minutes to 1/2 a day. Sometimes I can just look at a picture or group of pictures and just know exactly which kit and what I want to do with it is perfect to complement the photos.

Other times I may start, delete, start, try something else. After spending 1/2 a day on it, I am usually not as happy with these as I am the ones that just come to me.

Thanks, Renae

This is a hard one for me! I'm still new so if I'm not using a template it's 2 hours at least. If I'm using a template or photo cluster then it's much faster, maybe an hour?
