I jumped on the Project 365 bandwagon and have taken a picture everyday since January 1st. I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it this long and have really enjoyed the challenge of finding something to take a picture of every day! I'll be posting my daily pictures here on the blog.
The other thing I'm really enjoying is using the W&W LIFE 365 kit to make my weekly layouts, and I'm not just saying that because it's selling at our store! It really is fun to use and easy to put a layout together and I'm actually having fun scrapping again!!
The cover page is free in the W&W store and the kit is for sale there as well. I've made the first add-on, a Stamp-It set with date graphics as well as an .abr file of all of the stamps.
Mom is releasing a Paint-It Add On in the next few days, and Gina has even more add-ons in the works! This is an amazing kit and promises to only enhance your Project 365 experience!!
Happy Shooting!!

(If I wasn't so tired, I'd take the time to write a witty post but I'm exhausted so that'll have to wait...)
Tomorrow I start classes at a local applied technology college and I couldn't be more excited about it! I'm going into media design, following a web design program and I know I'm going to totally rock the whole program! :)
Over the weekend, I saw the Create-Your-Own Tumbler at Starbucks and decided I needed to make one to take to school with me. As I made mine, I decided to share the template shape with you. I know it's all over the place within the digital community but it was simpler for me to re-create it for myself and now the template is here too!
Here is my finished version using the new Just Earthy kit:
You can download the blank template HERE!
Wish me luck on my first day of school! :)

Ok, so this is a little late since the results of her competition have been in for over a week but I am so proud of her that I had to share!
My friend, Melanie Roach, placed 6th in the Olympic finals of the women's 53 kg (117 lbs) division, and set a new American record and her own personal best, lifting a total of 193 kg (425.5 pounds!!)! I just think it's so awesome that a mom of three kids/successful business woman can compete at this level, but if anyone could do it it would be Melanie!!
Isn't she so freaking cute?? Melanie is my sister Gina's age, they went to high school together, but we became friends when she started dating my friend, Dan Roach (who is my sister Shelley's age and friend of hers from high school). When Melanie and Dan were married in early 1999, my ex-husband and I were two of only a handful of friends that attended their small wedding. Dan is also a Washington state legislator, running for re-election this fall. (In fact, Dan was standing on a street corner campaigning by holding one of his signs in the Seattle rain when Melanie first spotted him. She thought he was so good looking, she drove around the block to go by him again!)
Melanie is so tiny I couldn't believe that she was a weighlifter, she didn't look "beefy" in the least bit! But one day I saw her arms and shoulders and they were pure muscle and I knew she could totally take me! I remember trying to get together with her while she was training for the 2000 Olympic trials when all she would do is train, get a massage, measure out her food, sleep and repeat. It was such a disappointment when she injured her back/elbow and wasn't able to compete.
Now, almost 10 years, and 3 kids later, she's achieved her goal of competing at the Olympics and come away, if not with a medal, setting a new American record. She's an amazing woman and even the NY Times thought so in this article and she is also featured in the most current Sports Illustrated!!
WAY TO GO MEL!!

My sister Amy posted her version of this on her blog a week ago and it looked fun but I just barely found the time to do it today since I'm staying home sick from church. I wasn't too sure of the pictures I chose until the whole thing was done but then I loved it. That may have something to do with the beautiful picture of David Beckham smack dab in the center of it but who knows for sure...and of course the fact that he's framed by steak, Cherry Pepsi and chocolate cheesecake can't hurt either...Like Amy I kind of cheated too because of the choice of pictures. A search for my name of Heidi came up with many pictures of Heidi Klum (the supermodel....uh...no) or a German shepherd dog with the same name (again...no).
So here's mine:
The Concept:
a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
b. Using only the first page, pick an image.
c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd’s mosaic maker.
The Questions:
1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?
8. Favorite dessert?
9. What you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One word to describe you.
12. Your nickname.
My Answers:
1. Heidi
2. Steak
3. BYU (only for a year but when I typed in my high school I only got pictures from reunions)
4. Blue
5. David Beckham
6. Cherry Pepsi
7. Carribbean cruise
8. Anything chocolate
9. An artist
10. My kids
11. Creative
12. No nickname :(

Whether or not you're in the US, yesterday was still the 4th of July, right?? It was rather uneventful here since I was working hard to get this new Doodly Patterns set in the store:
These 50 colorful Doodly Pattern Frames are made with bright pattern papers, plus 8 bonus plain papers perfect to put the frames on! We have a couple more sets of these doodly patterns coming so watch for them soon!
While all of you were grilling yesterday, I just had my daughter, Jessica, with me and being the crazy party animals we are, we decided to make a Chicken Broccoli Braid for dinner (please ignore the ring shape instead of the aforementioned braid...). Since it's such a rare occasion that I actually cook/bake (even though I really like to!!) I had to take a picture of the finished result:
I'm sure the fact that my little sister Amy has developed this new trait of domesticity and is always making/baking something and sharing pictures of it might have something to do with my urge to share it too...Have a great weekend!

Just wanted to share some pics of the girls and a friend at the wave pool last Saturday. Oh yeah, and it was my poor body's first exposure to the sun in who knows how long! I came away from it pretty burn free because I kept slathering on the sunscreen but I still ended up with a few pink and tender spots. Forgive the horrible extreme close-up that creates 6 chins that never seem to appear until I try to take a picture...

Amy and Shelley both have blogs now too to neglect! You can find Shelley's here and Amy's here.

I've been gently (and not so gently!) reprimanded for being a bad blogger so I'm attempting (again!) to rectify that!
Jessica shared with me The Coolest Blog last night and I wanted to share this with you. It's simply called {Black. White. Yellow.} and apparently I'm a bit partial to those colors already. A little warning though, don't bother going unless you have lots of time to spare because there are an endless amount of things to peruse. So cool!!
I could spend hours here finding inspiration so don't be too surprised if my next kit turns out to be. well...black, white, and yellow!
Have a great Tuesday!

Counting the Ways Quick Album + Extras
Available only at PrimaHybrid.com!
Vintage Comfort
Available only at PrimaHybrid.com
This kit was inspired by fun flea market finds, and I'm not talking about cheap luggage or socks. Think of perfectly worn quilt, beaded lamp shades, and rows of antique rugs. 10 patterned papers, 10 solid papers, a bunch of fun elements, and a cute itty-bitty notepaper alpha will make you feel like you just discovered the find of the day!
